Science Education: The Department of Elementary Education invites applications for a tenure-track position to teach science methods courses for Elementary Education majors, and one additional undergraduate or graduate level course based on need and interest.  An earned doctorate in science education or a closely related field is required for tenure; doctoral candidates may be considered at the rank of instructor.  Qualifications include substantial teaching experience in K-8 classrooms (experience at both primary and intermediate levels is preferred), and demonstrated ability to work with university students and professionals in elementary school settings.  Experience with diversity/multicultural education, instructional technology, field supervision, and standards-based science curriculum is desirable.  UMF’s education programs are accredited by NCATE. 

Salary:  Competitive.  

Application Process:  Positions begin September 1, 2010.  Position is at the Assistant Professor level and is tenure-track.  An earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree is required for tenure. Please submit a letter of interest including teaching philosophy/goals, vita, graduate transcripts, and three letters of recommendation, at least one of which pertains to college teaching.  Additional materials may be required.  Joint applications for a shared position are welcomed.  Review of applications will begin on the date noted below and continue until position is filled.  Electronic submissions will not be considered.
