The University of Maine at Farmington offers its 2000 undergraduate students strong programs in arts and sciences, teacher education, and human services.  Located in the county seat, UMF is surrounded by the foothills of the Western Maine Mountains.  Superb hiking, biking, skiing, and boating are available, as well as scenic mountain vistas, sparkling lakes and streams, and unrivaled fall foliage.  Maine's seacoast, famed for its rugged beauty and delicious seafood, is 90 minutes away;  Boston can be reached in 3 1/2 hours, as can Quebec City.
